Launched in 2001, the Dot NAME universal domain extension is the sole TLD meant for personal websites only. These domains can include personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are known by. Initially, only third-level registrations were permitted, so if you desired to buy john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already bought 3rd-level names remained active.

Through our company, you can reserve your dot NAME domain for an interval between one and ten years. You will have the chance to update the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already registered domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer authorization key from the present domain registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been finalized. There are no special restrictions on who can purchase a .NAME domain name, but in order to keep the idea behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
