How many server Operating Systems will you be able to select from?
An Operating System is the low-level software that controls a computer. It controls how the hardware behaves, the communication with peripherals for instance a monitor, a printer or a keyboard, the allocation of memory between all the applications, along with the prioritization of apps when multiple ones run simultaneously. Every program which is installed on a PC works by sending requests to the OS for different services via an application program interface (API). The contact with the OS can be performed through a Graphical User Interface (GUI) or a command line. In the web hosting field, the Operating System is what commands a hosting server together with all of the software installed on it, which includes not only website scripts, but, in addition every other application for example a VOIP or a game server. If there are virtual machines created, they use a guest OS which runs on the server host OS.
Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers
The dedicated servers we offer can be installed with as many as 3 different Operating Systems because we want to give you more versatile plans which will enable you to install and run any type of web software whatever its system requirements. Your options are CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu and these 3 OSs are among the most reliable and risk-free ones, not mentioning that they don't have any kind of license costs. All three have thousands of developers that have created a huge number of software packages that you may install and use on your hosting server. We also offer three hosting Control Panels and which one you can use is determined by the Operating System that you select when you sign up. If you need some other OS afterwards, it will not be a problem because we can always reinstall your machine. With our Managed Services package we could also keep your OS secure by updating it every week with any patches which are released for it.
